The cost of hiring a cherry picker and conducting a proper survey of high level work will always be repaid in hard information about the condition of the structure and the extent of remedial work required if necessary. The advantage of sending a stonemason up is that all the preparatory notes, sizes and templates can be taken as required, and real costings prepared.
