In 2002 the Community Council in Cockenzie and Port Seton, the village where I live, were invoved with the TV gardening show the Beechgrove Garden. A new public garden was made on ground that had not been accessible before. The designer came up with a design using lots of stone and thats when I got involved.

Ten tonnes of demolition stone were dumped on the street outside and a squad of volunteers humped it into the garden. It took me three weeks, all of the stone and four tonnes of compo to build this. Teams of folk from the village dug weeded and planted to get the garden ready. Now, a year later, most of the plants are well established it is looking great and is a real asset to the village.
